The Drug-Free Community Support Program(DFC) is a Federal grant program that provides funding to community-based coalitions that organize to prevent youth substance use.

Lopez Island Prevention Coalition along with its local, state and federal partners help provide a strong network of support for its community.

The Coalition works closely with its mentor and sister coalition, the San Juan Island Prevention Coalition and Orcas Island Prevention Partnership to organize and create such events as the San Juan County Leadership Camp. (video of San Juan County Leadership Camp)

At a state level – the coalition works with Department of Social and Health Services to bring  information such as the Washington State Recovery Help Line to the community.

As a trained member of CADCA (Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America) Lopez Island Prevention Coalition receives technical support and training in their vision to support the work of healthy community.
